Security Enhancements
- Enhanced Password Policies (CS-3398): A more stringent password policy is now enforced when adding new users, changing passwords, or resetting them. This update significantly boosts account security. All existing users are required to update their passwords to comply with the new policy. Please consult the user manual 15.6 for detailed information.
- Current Password Verification for Changes (CS-3783): For increased security, users are now prompted to enter their current password when initiating a password change for their own account.
- Mandatory Role Assignment for all Users (CS-3865): To ensure proper access control from the outset, all user accounts are now required to have at least one role assigned.
- Brute Force Protection (CS-4480): Brute force protection is now enforced on all user accounts, significantly increasing security against unauthorized access attempts. Refer to the user manual 15.7 for more details.
System Improvements & Optimizations
- Resolved Duplicate Certificate Issue (CS-4507): An issue that occasionally led to the generation of certificates with duplicate common names has been resolved, ensuring unique and proper certificate identification.
- Third-Party Component Upgrades (CS-4494): All third-party components, including OpenVPN, Traefik, Keycloak, and PostgreSQL, have been upgraded to their latest versions. This update delivers performance enhancements, security improvements, and greater overall system stability.
- Optimized Module-Firmware Deployment (CS-4497): The deployment process for Module-Firmware on slower devices has been further optimized, leading to more efficient and reliable updates.
- Streamlined Support Request Process (CS-4499): The process for submitting support requests has been updated. Initiating a new support request will now generate an email template for users to complete and send, streamlining communication and ensuring all necessary information is provided.
- Improved Diagnostic Data Collection (CS-4501): Output from the command-line tool is now automatically collected and stored within the Connectivity Suite support file. This enhancement significantly aids in the analysis and resolution of installation and update issues.
Important Operational Changes
- Revised Migration Process (CS-4505): The direct migration option has been removed from the command-line tool. Beginning with version 3.7.4, migrations will now be a two step upgrade process. Please refer to the user manual 20.2 for detailed instructions on performing these new two-step upgrades.
- Discontinuation of Ubuntu 20 Support (CS-4513): Support for Ubuntu 20 has been discontinued. Users are advised to upgrade to a currently supported operating system for continued compatibility and access to the latest features and security updates.
